Learning at Newfield School is more than a classroom experience. It is an enjoyable journey of discovery, creativity, and growth. Every week, our learners are engaged in enriching activities aimed at sharpening the mind, building character, and increasing confidence.
Hands-on learning that builds skills for the future.
This past term has been full of excitement both at our Nursery and Primary sections. From coding to creative arts, our pupils explored new methods of learning that ignite curiosity and build essential 21st-century skills. The Language of Cutlery series was a reminder of how important it is to use cutlery well and communicate with how we place them on the table, plate etc.
Our Primary learners experienced a fantastic visit to the indigenous Nigeria Wax Crayon factory, 8th Gear Hub and HAVENEDU Services, where hands-on Robotics and Coding sessions took place. The learners worked with real robots, explored the concept of coding, and saw just how ideas become reality with technology. These are the kinds of experiences that lie at the heart of our pledge to raise children for a digital-first world-one where innovation, problem-solving, and creativity will thrive. A class also spent a day at the SHODEX Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
Early Childhood Excellence Through Meaningful Experiences
Our Preschool children also had a memorable term. The children had an amazing playdate at the Funtaslticaland Indoor Play House. We finalized the End of Autumn Term Reports for Preschool 1 and 2. These reports capture each child’s unique progress-from fine motor development to early literacy milestones-that reflects our Hands-on inspired approach where each child learns at their own pace in a nurturing environment.
We are also very happy to report that colleges of education and universities have continued partnering with us. Student-teachers keep coming into the Newfield community for their practicum. This helps bring new ideas into our classrooms and reinforces the high professional standard that we have set in the field of early childhood education.
Health, Hygiene, and Personal Development
A special outing for our Year 1 learners to De Twist Dental Clinic allowed them to learn about oral hygiene, explore dental tools, and have individual dental screening reports. These experiences teach lifelong habits and extend our learners’ understanding of personal health and well-being.
Our children celebrated the Nigerian Independence Day, World Food Day, World Safari Day, World Habitat Day, International Day of the Girl Child, LEXIQUEST(Spelling Contest) etc.
